Abstract

The Prime Minister’s UchchatarShikshaAbhiyan (PM-USHA) is a transformative initiative aimed at enhancing the quality, accessibility, and infrastructure of higher education in India. This research explores its alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Using a mixed-methods approach that combines policy analysis and secondary data review, the study highlights key advantages of PM-USHA, including improved funding, digital transformation, and inclusivity. Findings indicate significant progress in infrastructure development and equitable access, but challenges such as administrative bottlenecks remain. The paper concludes with recommendations for optimizing the scheme’s implementation to ensure sustainable and inclusive growth in higher education.
